Mylar for original art

Can someone suggest which type of mylar to use and who to buy from to protect original art pages?

 

Also, is there a good way to preserve penciled art? I once bought a piece that was in pencils that is an X-Men cover and the artist said he hadn't sprayed it with some fixative and that I should, but I never did. Should I?

 

I also have some kind of clear sheet with lettering on it from a Watchmen page. It was in a portfolio and some of the ink pulled off. What should I keep that in?
