Weird V1 #10 1966 (1st Issue)

Grade: 6.0

Ask: $70

Notes:

- This started it all folks! 1st comic issue published under Eerie Publications

- Book is VERY attractive for grade. Generally scarce book.

- Bold bright colors with great gloss

- Large lightly breaking color bends (front top right) and spine split at bottom kill it from being VF or better

- Elwood Frankenstein Art/Story

- Key issue includes Intro Morris the Caretaker of Weird w/ Burgos Art

Ask: $48

Notes:

- Amazing Boris cover. I mean look at that detail in her face and neck. Uncanny.

- Nude Panels

- Awesome Dracula/Mummy/Frankenstien/Lagoon Creature/Wolfman Battle Royale mini panel

- Colors are vibrant and pop right off of the cover. Gloss is as if new. Nice book.

- Light crease that barely breaks color to UR corner.

- Lightest of wear to LL corner.

- 3 light spine stress marks at 1/16" or less, 1x 3/8" spine stress at upper corner that lightly breaks color.

- Square book with nice squarebound spine.

- Off-White Pages

Grade: 9.2

Ask: $48

Notes:

- Morrow Painted Cover of Dracula Burning at stake in NYC.

- 13 Page Neal Adams Art with Marv Wolfman --script

- 12 Page John Buscema Art

- Great Stories

- Color and gloss is great. White pages.

- Light tear to Right edge 1/16". With light crescent creasing. Main defect of book.

- 1 light spine stress mark that barely breaks color.

- Corners are nice and square.

- Squarebound is nice.

- Staples tight and clean.

- Light accumulation of 5 spine stress marks at 1/16" or less that lightly break color.

- Light LL & UL bindery corners.

- Lightest of wear to UR & LR corners and rub to back cover probably from Mag stack.

- Tough Book to get in a grade like this.

- Amazing color and gloss. Newstand fresh.

- Would be a stunning NM 9.4 if not for a 1/8" crease to back cover LL corner.

- Front cover is amazing and just has 2 lightly bumped LL & UL corners. Very inconspicuous.

- Abraded lower spine corner is from production (I’ve seen CGC 9.8 Mags with them)
