Any Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Experts out there?

Hi folks,

 

Does anyone remember the original Handbook of the Marvel Universe books where usually a penciller most associated with a character would draw the entry and then Josef Rubenstein would ink that character? I am asking specifically though about the last two issues that featured the inactive/deceased characters.; In corresponding with Rubenstein years ago, his recollection was that most of the art on the last two books was lightboxed but he wasn't 100% positive. Does anyone know the story behind these books? For full disclosure, I own the Thanos entry by Jim Starlin.
