Pedigree Comics’ High Grade Special DC August Grand Auction Begins July 31st!

1 post in this topic

Major News For DC Collectors! Our upcoming Special DC August Grand Auction will contain many new and recently graded Golden, Silver and Bronze Age high grade DC's. The auction is scheduled to begin in four (4) weeks, on the night of Sunday, July 31st and last for ten (10) days until the night of Wednesday, August 10th as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website (www.PedigreeComics.com). There is no Buyers Premium on any of the lots in the auction and most of the items will have no reserve. Every book is CGC or CBCS graded and the minimum bid is only $100 for this Grand Auction. You can view all the initial lots in the Auction Preview beginning right now (over 240 items). Just go to the Pedigree Comics website and click on the Grand Auctions banner.

The Special DC Grand Auction will feature one of the best ever all-DC offering of high grade Golden, Silver and early Bronze Age books from all your favorite titles. Most of the books come from a few different consignments, including the high grade Miramar Collection that was consigned to Pedigree a few months ago. The Silver and Bronze Age Marvels were featured in Pedigree’s recently concluded June Grand Auction.

There are some absolutely amazing runs and groups of core DC titles including Action Comics, Batman, Detective Comics, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Justice League of America, Superman and Wonder Woman. The Batman, Detective, Hawkman, Superman and Wonder Woman runs are among the best ever offered in an online auction. The Batman run is the deepest (well over 150 books) and contains many choice high grade issues from the early Golden Age to the early Bronze Age. The Detective run is also stunning with some really nice Golden Age pieces plus many ultra high grade Silver and early Bronze Age issues. There are over 100 issues of Detective Comics to choose from.

The Hawkman run is a near-complete group of early Silver Age Hawkmans from issue #3 to issue #25, all in 9.4 and 9.6 grade! The Superman run is ridiculous, featuring over 45 issues between Superman #2 and Superman #54 (some doubles are included), all in 7.5 to 9.4 certified condition and most in 8.0 and higher, with a bunch from the Davis Crippen "D" Collection (close to 10). The Wonder Woman run features a fabulous group of 20 early Silver Age issues between #120 and #144, all in high grade and most (12) in 9.4 and higher! These Wonder Womans come from an original owner collection out of California that Pedigree purchased in November, 2015 and are spectacular.

Please check the website (www.PedigreeComics.com) and the Latest News section plus this space every day over the next five (5) weeks for all the latest and last minute additions to the auction, including the grades on the final batch of books (approximately 40 more high grade DC's) for the auction that are currently at the CGC’s offices awaiting certification. We will be highlighting a run from the auction each week so please check the site for all the info. and grades.

If you have high grade CGC or CBCS certified comic books to sell or consign, do yourself a favor and contact Pedigree Comics. Please go to the site and read the following for all consignment information or contact us directly at (561) 422-1120 or (561) 596-911 or by email at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com.

We are now accepting consignments for the Special DC August Grand Auction. The sooner you consign your books the more exposure they will receive. We aggressively promote and advertise each auction and send periodic newsletters to all of our over 22,000 customers announcing the auction items. We also offer generous cash advances for quality consignments so check the site for consignment instructions and get your books in now.

Pedigree Comics' CEO and President, Doug Schmell, invites you to take advantage of our many outstanding services. Consignors maximize their profits selling in the Grand Auction, more so than on any other auction site or auction house. We do not charge a buyers’ premium, an amount that most bidders take into consideration when bidding in other sites (the bidders simply deduct the buyers’ premium amount, usually 20% of the winning price, from their final bid, meaning less $$ to the consignor and more to the auction site). The higher the value of your book(s) that sell in a Grand Auction, the more $$ you take home under Pedigree Comics’ Climbing Scale as follows:

A Climbing Scale is in effect for consigned items with a winning bid as follows:

10% Commission for any consigned item that sells up to $10,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $90% of the final bid price);

9% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $10,000 and up to $25,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $91% of the final bid price);

8% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $25,000 and up to $50,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $92% of the final bid price);

6% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $50,000 and up to $100,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $94% of the final bid price);

5% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $100,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $95% of the final bid price);

We consistently set new sales records for Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age comic books and magazines in each of our bi-monthly auctions and we do not saturate the market with the same material each month. Grand Auctions are unique and exciting, with brand new CGC and CBCS certified and diversified, highest quality material in each event. Why take home less $$ and settle for less by consigning with someone else?

There are three easy ways to consign your books to any of our upcoming Grand Auctions. The only criteria is that the books must be CGC or CBCS graded and worth no less than $100.00. If you have high grade raw books that you want to have certified and sold in a Grand Auction, you can utilize our Raw To Riches Consignment Service, in which we will have your books certified under our account and will lay out all the CGC or CBCS grading fees in advance for you (refer to the website and our Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide advertisement for all the details of the Raw to Riches Consignment Service). Here is how to consign:

1. Ship your books directly to our offices in Wellington, Florida. We will inventory, scan and upload each book into the Grand Auction listing. The books will be listed under your personal account and you will receive email notification at the conclusion of the auction with a list of every consigned book that sold along with the winning bid made.

2. Email the scans of the books you wish to consign directly to us at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com. We will format and upload each scan onto our server and then put each book into the Grand Auction listing. Please use a .jpeg format with the resolution set at 72 and the pixel width at 550 for optimum clarity. If you do not have a scanner you can use a digital camera.

3. You can upload your own scans, item information, book descriptions and reserve amounts, if any, by utilizing our Automated Consignment System. Just register onto the site (www.PedigreeComics.com) and login, click the “Customer Page” tab under “Your Account” and then click “Consignments” (under the “Auctions” heading). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and list your own CGC or CBCS certified books and magazines. We will receive an email once you have uploaded the scan and book information for each individual item into the system and we will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the Grand Auction listing to be bid on. You will be amazed how simple it is to use the Automated Consignment System.

If you have any questions or comments about the consignment process, any of the auction lots in the upcoming Special DC August auction or about the Grand Auctions in general, please contact Mr. Schmell at (561) 422-1120 (office) or (561) 596-9111 (cell) or at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com.
