PGM: Dale Evans Comics #1 (Queen of the Westerns) (1948)

I was able to pick this book up for $35. The staples have a little rust and the cover has some wear. Thoughts on the grade? Was $35 a good price? I love the old western tv shows like Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, and Gunsmoke!

I'm at 2.5, looks pretty flat which I like but missing pieces and staining hurt it.

 

I think you paid a fair price for it, if I saw it for $35 I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Thanks! It had one bid and I bid on it during the last few minutes, so I wasn't sure if I'd win it or not. I'm probably going to get it pressed and dry cleaned before storing. I don't know if I'll get it graded or not, I might though since it is a #1 from 1948.

Only grade if you intend to sell IMO. There are other reasons but for your own personal collection mylar/fb.

I'm definitely gonna put it in a mylar w/ fb. Just ordered a batch of 50.

i have no idea what FMV is on this book, but for a first issue DC from the GA, I don't think you can go wrong at $35.

 

Basically there is not much point to slabbing lower grade books unless they are worth at least a few hundred dollars, unless you just like having your books encased in plastic.
