What does a date stamp do to value . How many points will it cost in grading

It would not affect the final grade. Some people actually dont mind books with a date stamp on it.

In general, it doesn't have an affect on the grade, but could turn off potential buyers.

Sometimes it may depend on the location, the size, the color, the neatness of the stamp etc. - I've seen some fugly stamps, but generally, a neat, clean, non-ink-smudged stamp in an unobstrusive location has no effect on the grade at all.
