PGM: Captain America 117 - Written number "9" on cover

7 posts in this topic

Hi all,

Looking for some opinions on this book. As you can see, there is a number "9" on the cover in red pen. How does this affect the overall grade of the book? What grade would you give it? Any opinions would be appreciated! Thanks!

depends on the overall condition of a book.

if it's a 9.8 with the "9" on it, it probably would be dropped quite a bit

if it's a FN with the "9" on it, it probably wouldn't count against the grade much if at all.... (numbers/arrival date stuff and names are more favorable than scribbles and mustaches drawn on faces)

Thanks for the input. FYI- The back cover is in the same condition as the front. I also believe this book falls into the VF range, but I just wasn't sure how the writing on it would impact the overall grade. If you guys are saying it will still fall in a VF with the writing, I'm very pleased! I just wasn't sure what the guidelines on that were.
