No idea how to grade stained books. The stain on the top right corner effects every page, getting worse and worse towards the back pages. Would this book benefit from a press or cleaning, or not worth it? Opinions are much appreciated.

a press and clean won't remove the stain. it would flatten it out if it's wavy, but that's about it

I have never had a book cleaned, I didn't know how far dry cleaning goes or if lightening the stains up would matter.

 

Any idea on grade?

as it stands a 4.0?

 

Stains/damage that bad drop grade significantly

I'd guess 3.0 since the interior is significantly affected. Definitely not worth putting money into a press, clean, etc.
