Ultra High Grade Action & Adventure Comics in Pedigree’s January Grand Auction!

1 post in this topic

Our upcoming January Grand Auction will include many new and recently graded Silver and Bronze Age high grade Marvels and DC’s. The auction is scheduled to begin in three (3) weeks, on the night of Monday, January 9th and last for ten (10) days until the night of Thursday, January 19th as a separate event on the Pedigree Comics website (www.PedigreeComics.com). The comic book listing of the auction ends on the night of Wednesday, January 18th and the original art listing ends on the night of Thursday, January 19th. There is no Buyers Premium on any of the lots in the auction and EVERY comic book listing will have no reserve (some of the original art items will be listed with a reserve). Every book is CGC or CBCS graded and the minimum bid is only $100 for this Grand Auction. You can view over 350 high grade lots in the Auction Preview right now. Just go to the Pedigree Comics website and click on the Auction banner.

We have recently received on consignment an incredible collection of high grade Silver and early Bronze Age DC’s from Atlantis, Florida. The collection of more than 150 books is highlighted by a spectacular run of 9.6 to 9.8 Neal Adams cover issues, over 100 in total. Titles include Action Comics; Adventure Comics; Batman; Brave and the Bold; Detective Comics; Green Lantern; House of Mystery; Justice League of America; Phantom Stranger; Spectre; Strange Adventures; Superboy; Superman; Superman’s Girlfriend Lois Lane; Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen; Tomahawk; Unexpected; Witching Hour and World’s Finest Comics.

Almost EVERY book in the Neal Adams collection is a 9.8 or a 9.6 (over 95%) and almost every one is the highest or second highest certified copy with a bunch being the single highest certified copy to date! In addition, every book has either white or off-white to white pages. Many of the books (almost 50) were just recently graded by the CGC in the past month.

Each week prior to the auction commencement Pedigree Comics' CEO and President, Doug Schmell, will be highlighting a title(s) from the collection. This week’s spotlight is on the Action Comics and Adventure Comics group. Please check the website, the Latest News section and this space each week for all the recent additions to the auction listing.

We aggressively promote and advertise each auction and we send periodic newsletters to all of our over 22,500 customers announcing the auction items. We also offer generous cash advances for quality consignments so check the site for consignment instructions and get your books in now.

Mr. Schmell invites you to take advantage of Pedigree’s many outstanding services. Consignors maximize their profits selling in the Grand Auction, more so than on any other auction site or auction house. We do not charge a buyers’ premium, an amount that most bidders take into consideration when bidding in other sites (the bidders simply deduct the buyers’ premium amount, usually 20% of the winning price, from their final bid, meaning less $$ to the consignor and more to the auction site). The higher the value of your book(s) and art piece(s) that sell in a Grand Auction, the more $$ you take home under Pedigree Comics’ Climbing Scale as follows:

A Climbing Scale is in effect for consigned comics with a winning bid as follows:

10% Commission for any consigned item that sells up to $10,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $90% of the final bid price);

9% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $10,000 and up to $25,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $91% of the final bid price);

8% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $25,000 and up to $50,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $92% of the final bid price);

6% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $50,000 and up to $100,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $94% of the final bid price);

5% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $100,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $95% of the final bid price).

A Climbing Scale is in effect for consigned art pieces with a winning bid as follows:

10% Commission for any consigned item that sells from $100 to $3,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $90% of the final bid price);

8% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $3,000 and up to $80,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $92% of the final bid price);

7% Commission for any consigned item that sells over $80,000 (Consignor’s Proceeds = $93% of the final bid price).

Pedigree Comics consistently sets new sales records for Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age comic books and original comic art in each of our bi-monthly auctions and we do not saturate the market with the same material each month. Grand Auctions are unique and exciting, with brand new CGC and CBCS certified and diversified, highest quality material in each event. Why take home less $$ and settle for less by consigning with someone else?

There are three easy ways to consign your books and original art to our upcoming January, 2017 Grand Auction. The only criteria is that the books must be CGC or CBCS graded and worth no less than $100.00 (same as with original comic art). If you have high grade raw books that you want to have certified and sold in the January auction or a future Grand Auction, you can utilize Pedigree’s Raw To Riches Consignment Service, in which we will have your books certified under our account and will lay out all the CGC or CBCS grading fees in advance for you (refer to the website and our Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide advertisement for all the details of the Raw to Riches Consignment Service). Here is how to consign:

1. Ship your books or original art directly to our offices in Wellington and Boca Raton, Florida. We will inventory, scan and upload each book or art piece into the Grand Auction listing. The items will be listed under your personal account and you will receive email notification at the conclusion of the auction with a list of every consigned book and art piece that sold along with the winning bid made.

2. Email the scans of the books or art you wish to consign directly to us at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com (books) or RandyLawrence@pedigreecomics.com (art). We will format and upload each scan onto our server and then put each book and art piece into the Grand Auction listing. Please use a .jpeg format with the resolution set at 72 and the pixel width at 550 for optimum clarity. If you do not have a scanner you can use a digital camera.

3. You can upload your own scans, item information, book or art descriptions and reserve amounts, if any, by utilizing our Automated Consignment System. Just register onto the site (www.PedigreeComics.com) and login, click the “Customer Page” tab under “Your Account” and then click “Consignments” (under the “Auctions” heading). You will then be able to enter the Pedigree Comics Consignment Management System and list your own CGC and CBCS certified books and original comic art. We will receive an email once you have uploaded the scan and book/art information for each individual item into the system and we will then review the information imparted for accuracy. The item(s) will then be added to the Grand Auction listing to be bid on. You will be amazed how simple it is to use the Automated Consignment System.

If you have any questions or comments about the consignment process, any of the comic book lots or about the January Grand Auction in general, please contact Mr. Schmell at (561) 422-1120 (office) or (561) 596-9111 (cell) or at DougSchmell@pedigreecomics.com. For any consignment questions or comments regarding original comic art, please contact Pedigree’s Comic Art Consignment Director Randy Lawrence at (561) 451-9800 (office) or (561) 886-8777 (cell) or at RandyLawrence@pedigreecomics.com. For any financial related and consignment payment questions, please contact our CFO, Lisa Shapiro, at LisaJoy@pedigreecomics.com and for any technical related questions or concerns, please contact our Web Master at WebDesigner@pedigreecomics.com.
