For such a rough copy of CDNP 24 that was an aggressive price ($1275 for a G- or so). Still, I guess there is a certain price of admission just to be in this club.

I'm not surprised. Last I looked VG copies were around 2K. When books get that expensive, the price for a low end copy isn't much different between a 1.5 and a 2.5.

Not surprised but every once in a while a low-grade tough book goes off at auction at an odd time and someone gets lucky...at least, that's how I took OP's point.

Exactly - CDNP not exactly the most talked about/sexiest books to the high rollers but some great stuff in there that us bottom feeders pick up when they slip through the nets. Not so much any more.

I've got a 1.8 restored copy for glue that I might have to slap on the bay at the way that one went. Wasn't a pretty copy but no low graders seem to turn up anymore driving the bottom echelon upwards. One twistedly cool cover to say the least!

You could sell it on the boards here and avoid those onerous fees
