Isn't a slabbed 9.8 selling for a buck really like a -$32 comic???

Let's not sell this short! Negative 32 baby! :headbang:

How are you arriving at $32 for a slabbed modern? I'd call it a -$21

Maybe it was the only one sent in on the order.

That'd be $18 for the modern submission grading fee plus $15 in return shipping and invoice fee = $33.

Now hopefully they didn't do fast-track or (yikes) walk-through!

In the words of George Carlin, there has to be the most worthless number 1 comic ever printed in fabulous condition,

I have a nominee:

RIMA , The Jungle Girl May, 1974 (DC) I have this in at least a 9.4. It does not appear to be worth the paper it's printed on which was not a lot to begin with. I'm sure my estimation will fail in mere minutes when put before this fine board.

Have at it.

A raw 9.2 sold for $16 and mid-grade copies generally sell for around $5, so I don't think it is worthless. A slabbed 9.4 is probably "worth" $20-35 or so, but with shipping costs it makes for a hard on line sale.

Are you really only grading 1 book at a time though? There are economies of scale when you're sending books in for grading.

Someone slabbed Atomik Mike #1.

Do you think they understand something like economies of scale?
