yes, carolyn's first appearance.  i dunno, i feel like there are a lot of uniquely hokey romance books that could get such special attention.  collectors only seem to care about the few books from this era that had lower print runs.  i collect romance books because i like the corniness, but I do so on a low budget.

I agree; I think we are saying similar things. There's lot of relatively cheap pre-code that's as outrageous as the notorious ones. And I think low budget bronze romances, carefully selected as you're doing (me too) is not a bad bet long-term either. We're visionaries, blob!(thumbsu

If another one of these bronze romancers is going to pop (and obviously a couple of the giant DCs have), I tend to think it's going to be a marvel or DC, not a charlton.  I was aware of DC super spec 5 and DC giant S-17, but I see S-21, which Octobe has in his thread now, is another one of those desired giant DC romance books.

The early SA DC Romance books seem to have exploded, even some of the 12 centers.  I don't remember them doing this well.

You're most likely right; the Charltons may be unresurrectable, but they do have their nuggets, if you collect this genre. Soap Opera Love, built around a Jewish-Irish romance, is another bronze Charlton romance gem. Dirt cheap too.
