I think your not getting it. My apology was for not answering the PM fast enough to finish the deal. That's it. Not for selling to the other party, not for running my sales threads the way I do. Had I read the PM, I would have then given the option to post it, or I will post it for you as I always do.

 

I do feel bad about the way it happened. I know the winner just wanted the book to flip, and the other Boardie would probably still have it in their collection. That's not hinging on whether they accept that apology or not. But it does make me feel less bad (?) when the digs keep coming.

 

Keep the facts separate from the opinions. You can dislike the way my threads are run all you want, but that's your opinion. The fact is I can run them any way I want.

 

You voice your opinions on here that get backed up by a few of other Boardies, and they somehow become law. You seem to do everything right and never make mistakes. Congrats. You must feel that way because you have no problem telling everyone else how to do things.

 

I agree, things are changing around here. The new generation of Boardies aren't putting you on a pedestal like your used to.

The issue isn't whether you can "run them any way you want" (which still isn't true...you have to follow the CGC board guidelines, at a minimum)...it's whether or not you care that the confusing mess you created is A. ever going to be sorted out in whatever new sales threads you have, and B. ever going to be acknowledged by you with any real humility.

 

That you continue to say "not my fault, not my fault, I can do what I want, and you can't tell me otherwise!" really just proves the point, doesn't it?

Your comments are painting me in a way that makes me out to be all about the money. Of course it's nice to make a profit, but if you look around at other threads I'm involved in you'll see I'm far from greedy, and consider myself a member of this community.

 

This is one incident that got blown way out of proportion. Unfortunately I've been involved in a few other Friday threads :facepalm: but none have proven me dishonest or wrong doing. I can't help that my ego gets bruised easy, that's just how it is.

 

At least I made you laugh :foryou:

If you really mean that, then really make a real apology, one without qualification. See what Revat posted. Swallow your pride, do it, and make it stay done, no more snide responses about it, and then anything more will be on Tranny, not you. Try to understand where Tranny would have been put out, and make the effort to see things through his eyes. You don't have to agree. But acknowledging that someone was upset by the situation you created, without saying "I apologize, BUT here's where you were wrong...." goes a long way towards mending fences.

 

Here, I'll go first: Dan, I'm sorry if you feel I have portrayed you unfairly in this discussion, or if I was unfair to you in the course of the original situation. That wasn't my intention, but if that's what you think, my intentions don't really matter, whether I agree with your conclusions or not. I'm only trying to get you to see things from another perspective, and working to avoid a similar situation going forward.

 

I'm not your enemy, and am really trying to help, but I understand if you don't see it that way.

I just grabbed some sweet books from my LCS and I was thinking about quickly clearing them out by offering them as an auction. Problem is I'll only do it if I can have people PM me their top bid and I'll bump the current bid based on the others PM bids and bids I get in the thread itself. I know this format depends on my trustworthiness but I think I've shown I can be trusted over the last 10 years. Is this auction format against the rules? I know there will need to be a ton of explanations and rules to have the entire thing be transparent but I think it's the only way to have a fair auction since a bunch of people don't like to hang around at the end of an auction time. Thoughts?
