I remember liking the thor goes insane story line from the early 90s picking it up in a 25 cent box in the mid 90s. Dunno if I would feel the same way now if I read it.  And I remember enjoying dreadstar  too, but that was 30 years ago.

Dreadstar I am reading now, and it is very good. It would make a great movie.

Also, I found mid-90s Milestone titles such as Icon, Blood Syndicate and Hardware to be good reads.

Not so much satirical deconstruction as out-and-out satirical destruction. I most remember the one-shots featuring analogues of Marvel characters and another of the JSA.
