What’s with all the US ONLY selling threads?

Hmmm...the only thing I will say about this, is that gold/silver/copper and other precious metals have been sought and sourced for centuries, based on usage. Funny books about 100 years. We can melt certain metals and make some serious weapons, bullets, make tools, fill teeth, who knows what, when the big one drops. As for Action #1 during the Apocalypse......it can start a fire for your next meal.

Question about The Punisher's logo change...why?
Mercury Man replied to troydivision1's topic in Comics General
Appropriation stinks, and we all get penalized for it. It happens with certain sports teams logos/colors, clothing types, even hand gestures seemed to have changed meaning over time. Originality is lost on the unwashed masses. -

My opinion, is that CGC is getting inundated with crapola, that shouldn't warrant a grade and entombing in the first place. They simply can not supply the man power or quality control to grade this variant or that mid-grade non-key silver age book, that shouldn't be sent off in any sane universe. Save your money, hassle and time, and go get a 2 mil mylar and acid free backing board and be happy.

WOLVERINE variant discovery
Mercury Man replied to Drake Dragoon's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
I suggest you work in a print shop for a few years. (I did). It's not a variant. -

This Week In Your Plastic Crack, Action Figures and Toy Collection
Mercury Man replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
Decided to get a couple of my childhood memories in order. I had a few of these when they came out in 1975-1976. Happy to see some on ebay, so I pulled the trigger, as well as finding a loose one at a Flea Market. Had to pick up the retro sign to compliment the pieces. I will probably pull the completely damaged card ones out and put into a small display case, maybe get the full carded one graded. (P.S. the click click never sounded like gun fire to me). -

His 'style' definitely changed over the years, and not for the better. I hate his rigatoni looking hair thing that he draws.

What were the big deals when you were a kid comic wise?
Mercury Man replied to KCode98's topic in Comics General
Mid 1980's Silver/Bronze X-men had a special box in the back room at one of my local antique/comic places. Don't know why the owner felt like they didn't belong out with the other back issues. He also had a FN X-Men #1 he hid that he said he would sell for $500. That was 1990, and I was a broke college kid. GI Joe was doing well, then some kid in High School was talking about this new book called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Then McFarlane came along. -
Was anyone here collecting Marvel in the 70's or 80's?
Mercury Man replied to KCode98's topic in Comics General
The 7/11 rack was where we got our 'previews' at.
