PGM Silver Surfer #1

Picked up a full set 1-18 from a collector's estate; everything else is solid VG up through 8.5-9.0ish, with the majority falling in 6.0-7.0 territory, but this #1 has pesky and unnecessary tape on front and back covers. Here's the front; look at letters across bottom for tape strip.

2.5 as is. looks like 3.0-3.5 if tape was not applied.

That helps, thanks! That weird upper left pizza-grease looking area and the needless tape kill it! Structurally, it's solid. OW pages, cover well-attached, square binding looks good other than lower bit that you can see already, cover flat and gloss still pretty high.

Darn Readcomix, we have the same taste in comics, that is another of my favourites!

I think without the tape, and if the residue was cleaned up you would be closer to 4.5 territory.

The cover is nice, the corners are OK, and the spine doesn't look too messed up.
