While I do like the way books present in the new slab I try to avoid them.

1) Storage. They are thicker and I get less books into a box. This really matters for the safety deposit box. I also don't like to cram a new case into the middle of a bunch of older slabs. It doesn't feel 'right' .

2) Puddling. I used to be able to fix this 'problem' by sliding an envelope through the side of the slab. I can't slide an envelope, or anything else, into the side of the new slab.

Okay, now I get it . Are you taking testosterone supplements ?

I think this post proves that I'm mostly thinking about sex all the time...., :eyeroll:

Thicker, cram, feel "right", sliding, yeah, I can see that

He edited out the 'sucking on chef's salty chocolate balls' before I could slide or cram a thick quote in.  I must not have been adequately lubricated.

No problem with the new slabs anymore.  I also do not mind if I have 'mismatched' slabs.  It makes no difference to me.  Keep in mind that eventually they will change the label again or the slab design again.  I am not going to reholder my collection every time a new slab is introduced or the label is tweaked.  I would rather spend my money on a new acquisition to my collection.

The multi tool is a great suggestion @mschmidt and something I just added to my Amazon basket.  I feel guilty many times when I send things off to be pressed or even simply graded and I request that the presser open up the slab.  I will give it a try.  Thanks.
