I'm working to acquire this book from an original owner

I'm concerned about the rippling on the front cover, but pretty confident it would press out
Your opinions are appreciated

PS - these are the scans he sent me. They were originally PDF files converted through imgur (so they aren't best quality, but that's all I have)
