I sold it in a Heritage auction 3 or 4 years ago...

Might I ask how much it went for?

 

Was this referring to the Wonder Woman or the Action Funnies?

 

It was the Wonder Woman #1 Ashcan and sold for $17,250 on 3/16/02.

Could be because of Wendell Crowley. Remember, he tried to keep a copy of everything. Also, seemed like Fawcett had to submit an ashcan everytime they were refused patent for a title.

 

No, I mean why did Gerber focus primarily on the Fawcett ashcans to the exclusion of others? The Action Funnies is not listed, nor are - I think - any DCs. Yet they were known to exist when he published the books.

I guess you would have to ask him that. He might have just liked Fawcetts. I will tell you this, it seems like he had more photos of Fawcetts in the Photo-Journal then he had in relation to others. So, the ashcans may have been part of that.
