From the photo the shadow doesn't actually look very unappealing, I'd go with 7.5 maybe 8.0.

The problem is that due to the shadowing 90% of the fc has significant color fading.

I feel like this book often looks faded, for example this copy. Having the contrast between the faded and un-faded part might make it worse though I guess.

I have a graded 9.0 copy of this book and a few lower grade copies. All of them have the exact same look where the bottom appears brighter. Because of this I suspect it was made to look like this.  This copy actually looks better then my graded 9.0 copy.
