Myparentsbasement
I was thinking of sending this in for a press to get some kinks worked out, but I'm not sure if that would make the staple pull worse. too many pictures in the spoiler. Thanks for looking. Spoiler Edited October 3, 2017 by Myparentsbasement Removed pictures.
grebal
My guess, conservative grade starts at 5.0. Doubt it would get a FN (top edge wear and micro tears/pre chips), but certainly that's conceivable if they ignore the tanning. Top staple at spine looks slightly discolored but that could easily be the lighting (and both staples at centerfold are clean and shiny).

Konrad5288
The way I see it, if you are worried about the staples and for sure want it pressed find someone who won't mind spot pressing it for you. In the one pic unless the camera is playing tricks it looks like you have a dent through left side they could press out. Maybe they can fix up the staple indents too. I just sent in a bronze with some tanning on inside cover and back. They probably only dinged me .5 or so on the grade. Youre tanning is worse though. Watch out too. If you check out CCS guidelines it says pressing could have undesired effect on excessively tanned books. Or just send it in and hope for the best. Im going 6.0 post press. . I chose not to risk a popped staple and sent it as is. Thanks for the info!
