I decided to do a trial run using GPA to make sure that I am relatively informed going befrore I start purchasing a few higher price books.  I was looking at the my collections section and notice that if I enter my books it wants a price and a certificate number.  If some of these books were purchased raw by me, and I later have them slabbed, if I register those books are they listed as recent CGC sales? Or do those just go into my pravate area so I can keep track of values?  If they were previously slabbed books, but not recorded by GPA, how does that work with the system?

Not clear why you want to use that feature, since it seems unrelated to your goal of getting information on higher priced book purchases.  I have found GPA to be indispensable as both a buyer and seller for the sales data it compiles.

That is only for your private records and in no way influences their public database or records of sales.
