Mixed 1950s/Early 1960s DC-Dell-Archie Humor Comics Lot:

Here's what you get (see scans below)...

• Adventures of Bob Hope #39 (DC, 1956):

GGA cover?  Sure, why not?!?  From what I've read, ol' Bob dearly loved the ladies...

Here's another fun fact: this title ran for 18 years or so…109 issues in all.  I'd like to see a modern "humor" book dedicated to a balding, middle-aged comedian hit that mark! :insane:

Date-stamp on front cover.  A very solid copy for a 61 year-old comic book.

VG/Fine.

• Cosmo the Merry Martian #2 (Archie, 1959)

Not a super easy book to find, and as all "contemporary classic" Archie readers know, Cosmo is Fernando Ruiz's favorite character:

http://fernandoruizeverybody.com/cosmo-the-merry-martian/

Some staple rust with very slight migration at the centerfold; some light staining to two small areas along the top edge and rhs of the back cover.

Tough book, 100% complete.

G/VG.

• Dell Giant Marge's Lulu and Tubby Halloween Fun #6 (Dell, 1957)

Classic work from John Stanley and Irving Tripp -- 15 interior stories/gag pages!  You got a lot of mileage for your 25-cents back in them days, youngsters!

100% complete.  Puzzles on the inside front and inside back covers have been completed in pencil.  Small, ancient tape repairs to the inside front and inside back covers.  1.5" triangular piece missing (upper lhc) from the back cover.

Fair.

• Dell Four Color #318 - Donald Duck in "No Such Varmint" (Dell, 1951)

Essential comics reading from Carl Barks, one of the TRUE old masters.

Very rough, but 100% complete.

Cover is completely detached from both staples but still in one piece (though just barely, due to large segments of the spine missing); centerfold loose; pencil writing on front cover and in the margin of the last page; multiple tears/bends/folds, etc., etc.

It ain't a beauty, bit it IS the real thing, which has to count for something!

Fair-.

• Sugar and Spike #39 (DC, 1962):

The legendary Sheldon Mayer at his SA best.

100% complete -- no cut-outs clipped or missing.

Good-.

:bump:

If nobody takes this lot as it sits, I might also post a lower grade SA DC hero lot in this thread over the weekend, with a special discount price if someone takes both of them.  Stay tuned!

Low Grade '60s DC Hero Lot:

These are all pretty rough.  Defects include: big spine rolls, pieces/corners missing, chew damage, spine damage, staining, etc., etc.  Think of them as VERY low "Fairs" and you won't be disappointed.

BUT they are all also fairly solid, and 100% complete and readable…no missing pages, no missing centerfolds, no coupons clipped.  The paper quality ain't all that bad, either -- OW/cream and very supple.

Here's what you get:

Adventure Comics: 293, 317, 342, 349, 350, 360, 361, 365.

Superboy: 103, 141.

Superman: 173, 190, 198.

Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane: 72.

Wonder Woman: 136.

=======================================================

15 comics total for...

$10 + $5 for secure but NO FRILLS USPS shipping...

OR...

$5 w/NO extra shipping charge if you also take the Humor lot listed above!
