is this some kind of trick question ?? i mean seriously ????......there was Stan "The Man" Lee,..... and then there was everybody else combined for a distant second place so far behind that one would need the Hubble space telescope just to see them

Gerry Conway. It don't get better than ASM #123 to #149.

I think Conway was so good because he was just a few years older than Peter Parker when he wrote ASM.

Stan Lee for the first few years was brillant,but he got tired at the end. Gerry Conway stories brought new life into Spider-Man's adventures.

+1.  I can't imagine how Spidey would have turned out had Steve Ditko's plotting contributions been ignored and it's interesting to note the progression of that significance by the amount of credit Stan gives Steve on the title pages.
