Bosco685
Quote ComicBook.com was on hand for Warner Bros.' CinemaCon panel, where the first official footage of Birds of Prey was screened as part of a larger DC sizzle reel. While the footage will presumably not be released online for the time being, we were able to get a detailed description of what was seen, which you can check out below. "February 7, 2020, Birds of Prey is coming. 'I love long titles,' Margot Robbie says in the video. "It's a girl gang!" Robbie says that Harley is not initially part of the Birds of Prey. The logo flashes across the screen. Promotional footage sees the characters in place. Behind-the-scenes footage sees them filming in an explosive setting. Harley hangs onto a car while roller-blading behind it. Black Mask takes aim with a gun. The group of five women walks toward the camera similar to how Guardians of the Galaxy did in their first trailer." While this footage might not reveal too much of about the film itself, it does hint at what kind of energy Birds of Prey will bring, similarly to the behind-the-scenes teaser that was released when the film began production. And seeing as filming on the project is still going on, it's safe to say that many more surprises will eventually be in store. Birds of Prey will follow a team-up between Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), as they join forces to help Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) escape the vicious crime lord, Black Mask (Ewan McGregor). “It's always fun introducing audiences to a new character,” screenwriter Christina Hodson said in an interview with ComicBook.com late last year. “It's great doing a deep dive into into all the different characters, doing my research on the characters collectively bit also individually and getting to know them a bit more, and then feeling free to go off leash a little bit and do something new and different and bring them to screen in a way that felt right alongside Harley.”

Bosco685
Quote Speaking exclusively to We Got This Covered, an industry insider has revealed that the studio is interested in producing a standalone Black Canary movie, depending on whether or not Birds of Prey does well at the box office. For those who aren’t up to date, here’s a quick rundown. Set sometime after the events of Suicide Squad, the film follows a newly-single Harley Quinn, who joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montoya to protect Cassandra Cain, a young girl who’s being targeted by Black Mask. Jurnee Smollett-Bell, best known for her roles on Friday Night Lights and True Blood, is set to portray Black Canary, and would (presumably) return to the role should a standalone movie be greenlit. While this new tidbit of info hasn’t been confirmed by Warner Bros., we’re hoping that the studio can begin to lay down a solid plan for the future of the DCEU. Personally, I can’t wait to see how Birds of Prey turns out, and wouldn’t mind if it led to a few spin-off movies (fingers crossed for a standalone Harley Quinn film) down the line. sagekilz
I'll more than likely watch it, but it is it wrong that I don't care about it?

If it isn't your reading or fan focus, a film like this is not going to connect initially. But the test screenings are sounding very positive so far. Bosco685
Grace Randolph spread rumors earlier in the week the film was going through MASSIVE RESHOOTS, which other scoop bloggers pounced all over her for exaggerating. This is actually good news they are doing minor action reshoots to spice up the film.
Bosco685
Quote John Wick director Chad Stahelski is coming in to help the Birds of Prey kick some more butt. The filmmaker, who cut his teeth in the action world, has been brought in to oversee second unit photography for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), Warner Bros.' Margot Robbie-starring adventure movie based on DC Comics characters. The movie is heading into additional photography as it works its way through post-production ahead of a February 2020 release. Cathy Yan is making her big studio debut as director with the high-profile entry and will work with Stahelski on the new shoots in the action realm, many times known as second unit. Stahelski, taking an uncredited role, will tackle and design new action scenes for the movie. In some ways, this is Stahelski doubling down on the movie as his company, stunt firm 87 Eleven, has been working on the movie since production began. Another rumor was the John Wick co-director was brought in to save the day with this film. But his stunt company was already involved in the film from the beginning.
