crazyhips
Picked up a really nice copy of detective 351 yesterday. The book looks 8.5 but appears to have a few very minor stains. However, I can’t tell if they are truly stains, distributor spray, or a production ink defect. Opinions?
Bomber-Bob
Dose it penetrate the cover ? Can you feel it or is it smooth ? It doesn't have the look of a spray, the edges are very pronounced. The edges almost look like wash lines. My guess would be a stain. Sorry.
crazyhips
Thanks Bob. Doesn’t penetrate cover. Even if it is a stain I’m not sorry for the pick up. Given the old checkered perimeter I didn’t even notice it at first. It does explain why the seller had it priced in Fine condition despite looking almost 9.0 with white pages. Small stains don’t bother me at all and are hammered too harshly by cgc in my opinion.
joeypost
The bulk of that can be removed. crazyhips

And with nothing more than a little lick of a fingertip and a soft tissue! Wouldn't even dull the gloss.
