Is it normal for a new comic to have marks on the corners?

I am brand new to buying comics and decided I wanted to start buying and collecting. I ordered 10 of the same book from a comic book store online, when they arrived I realized the bottom left and top left corners all had little tears or are pushed in a little bit.

I am wondering is that something that is normal and you just have to hope for the least amount of damage? Or should I complain and return the books for a refund?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

No, that is not normal. Send them back. You don't want these.
