Fingerprints
1 1

3 posts in this topic

So I'm looking at picking up a book graded at a 9.2 but grader notes indicate a lite crease on the spine and fingerprints on the centre back cover. Am still kind of new'ish to collecting and this is my first experience with fingerprints. Is this something that can be cleaned if I were to re-sub? How much of a negative are they considered in collecting. I can't see the fingerprints but here's the only pic of the back cover I have.

Thanks in advance for any/all tips.

I too see light black prints in the yellow area. Any attempt at dry cleaning them off will remove some of the yellow ink. Any use of solvents risks both removing some ink and a restored grade if CGC detects the solvent cleaning.

9.2 is probably the highest the book can grade.
