PGM Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2

Upon seeing what these old spidey's are going for these days, I've pulled these out of hiding recently after 15+ years, for another look. Some are better than I remember and some are worse. Collected a run from when I was a kid, and filled it in into adulthood, and guess I should have submitted some for grading back then. CGC was just new however and I didn't agree with "locking up" your books from reading them like that (or smelling them). Even bought a couple, but broke them out so they would "fit in" with the rest of my collection. Think that was a mistake as I wish I'd kept them in now.

Pretty nice books you have there. I'm around an 8.5 - 9.0 on the #1 (because of the tan edges) but it depends on how CGC feels---I've seen them give books very similar to this one an 8.0. The #2 is a little harder to evaluate. I think it could benefit from a clean & press---I'd have it examined by CCS to see if it's a good candidate. It looks like it could yield a pretty nice grade if all goes well...possibly in the lower VF range. I hope this helps...and good luck!

Thank you Lions Den. As candidates for grading, most of my oldies have a real flaw of 1 kind or another and keep me on the fence from submitting. In hand, that GRR feels like new, except for the top edge wrinkle and serious tanning. 8 or 9 would be great by me. Agree with the reco on #2. A cleaning for sure but worry about those crushed spines I'm seeing on ebay from those pressed books. I'm just hoping they were amateurs or very brittle to begin with. This book is soft and can take it I think. There is a slight crease down the right side, that does not break the colour, I may chance it for. I just hope for fine from its feel.

I agree that the #2 should be in the Fine range. The upper staple has some rust. It also looks like a readers's crease in the upper part of the spine area. The upper left corner has a chip or ding. There is a chip in the middle of the top edge. Maybe a tear on the right edge ? It will definitely benefit from a clean and press. The point about the flattened spine is an unfortunate part of pressing. I hate that look but you are the first person to mention it in a long while. It can be 'plumped' up if the presser takes the time. Nice book, good luck with the submission.
