Hello. This is my first post in this forum. I hope my pictures download okay. I'm completely new to grading comics. I thought I'd post one of my lower grade keys as it confuses me the most. I'm not sure what type of info you are allowed to give on this forum, but I'm wondering if cleaning and pressing this would increase it's grade or marketability. The comic is complete, nothing missing, no tears. Cover is intact, but top staple area is? (not sure what you call it-stressed?).  Anyways, thanks for looking. I appreciate the help! And again, if someone could elaborate on cleaning and pressing in relation to a comic like this, it would be great!

If you give it to a good presser, he should be able to help straighten/align that spine. I see Rusty staples, many small tears (I don't know how you stated no tears?) including the staple area, and lots of general wear. As is, I see about a 3.5, maybe the proper press can bump it up as high as 4.5. I am not sure if a 1 point point bump is worth the expenses but it would present better.  If this was a #1, it would definitely be worth it but a #3 is not really a 'key'.

at this grade I'm not super sure its worth grading, depending on your preferred ROI.

An Xmen 3 VG raw 4.0 just sold for $229 on ebay in an auction in August.  (top rated Established seller)

an Xmen 3 CGC 4.5 sold for $280 on ebay a week later in another auction (top rated Established seller)

Of course other variables might factor in, but...I wouldn't be in a hurry to spend the money for pressing, grading, or cleaning, unless I had some concerns about restoration.
