New Wolvie & CBG Review

22 posts in this topic

The new issue of CBG (out today) as a review of the new Wolverine #1. Five people reviewed it and gave it the following grades:

B

B+

B

A

A-

CBG averaged these grades and gave it an A- over all. Don't these grades average out to be a B+ and not an A-?

Unless they put different weighting on different people's grades, I don't see how this list could get to an A-.

B = 3.00

B+ = 3.25

B = 3.00

A = 4.00

A- = 3.75

Average = 3.40, much closer to B+ than A-. But who knows what type of scoring they do with these reviews.

the two B's cancel each other out

the B+ and the A average A-

leaving you with A- and A-

So the A- seems correct....

Where did you learn math? grin.gif

Using any known form of mathematics, the only possible average is very close to a B+.

Just think about it logically, there are TWO B's, ONE A and ONE EACH of A- and B+. If you plotted those on a graph, would the average lean toward the B or A side?

Hmmmm....so according to your logic, if:

B

B+

the 8 B's cancel each other out

the B+ and the A average A-

leaving you with A- and A-

That works for me!!!

Cheers,

I just did it the "dumb guy" way. I threw out the high and the low and that left

B

B+

A-

That clearly averages out to B+.

The "dumb guy" way clearly dictates an A- in this example... smirk.gif
