One of my favorite 2000 AD artists. Strontium Dog was the best. RIP Carlos.

I actually enjoyed his gritty artwork more on Judge Dredd than Brian Bolland  even though it is hard to beat Bolland on Judge Anderson vs Judge Death.

Yup.  I remember liking the Strontium Dog stories right from the outset in the first issue of Starlord. 

Sad news about one of British comics’ most revered creators.

His work on Dredd with Bollands covers, were what got me connected with JD.  Carlos did all the artwork for this 5 issue story.  Great stuff.

Was he one of the main interviewees in the bonus features of the most recent (and most excellent) DREDD film?  He seemed like an incredibly likable guy if I am thinking of the right person.
