At risk of upsetting some non-believers, I don't think Gaines copies get the respect they deserve; principally because Bill Gaines had the foresight to lock away and preserve multiple copies of nearly all the issues. Gaines copies are some of the most pristine comics in the world ... hands down. They have the smell and feel of a newstand fresh comic. The art work is incredible and the colors are about as vibrant as any comic ever brought to market. Not to mention the stories! Good luck on your quest. Meanwhile, I keep working on my HOF run.
