crassus
Hello! Welcome to the "Comics Market - Forum Only Selling" board! The moderators have asked everyone around here to help educate new comers about the posting rules for this forum so that we can keep things running smoothly. So whenever we see a new thread go up that's missing some of the information required by the rules, someone will generally happen along and post this reminder (by moderator request). You can find the posting guidelines here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1460472&page=1#Post1460472 Specifically, you should check out #s 6 and 11 They are well worth reading, because your posts can be removed from the boards if they don't conform to the guidelines. This will help you to attract more buyers as well, since this is how people expect to have books offered around here. Thanks, and glad to have you here! comix4fun
Also note #4, "It must be an exclusive board-only offer. If the book is offered for sale through another venue (ebay, dealer site, personal web site, etc.) then it should NOT be offered here." https://www.ebay.com/itm/Steve-Ditko-Signed-Autograph-1989-Marvel-Spider-Man-Doctor-Strange-CGC-CBCS/123600252485?hash=item1cc7262e45:g:tn8AAOSw~xtcQWtK:rk:1:pf:1 It can't be offered on eBay and here at the same time. I wish the link was still active to see what the eBay name was. Keys_Collector and SkOw

Unless we are ABSOLUTELY sure, I do not want to include this person's ID with the association of fraud. The link is fine because the eBay user will not come up as associated with the thread. I would like to know though. Edited July 7, 2020 by Buzzetta

He usually has a booth at NYCC on the far right in the front. I have talked with him and his wife many times. I know another big time boardie who has purchased from Darren. letsgrumble
No, I am wrong. I was not up to speed on the greater context of the discussion. I'll amend my post.

I am currently doing the writeup. I will amend my post quoting the link to Darren's eBay listing. Edited July 7, 2020 by Buzzetta
Popular Post Wally's Comics
It always makes me sad that I never got a chance to tip my hat to Dikto in person. He was a great artist, but an even more talented designer IMHO. Think of not only spider-man, but all the rock solid characters and more importantly villains that he created and produced in only the first 16 issues of AF15/ASM... Spidey persona and his basic suit, (May and Ben sprung from an earlier Ditko ST issue) JJJ, Betty Brant, Chameleon, Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Lizard, Electro, Mysterio, Green Goblin and Kraven. Just unbelievable for a two year stretch! Even more important is that these characters have basically remained the same is looks and persona all throughout these years. Just incredible! I believe Ditko also redesigned Kirby's bulky TOS Iron man suit to the classic red yellow suit. So in my opinion he had a massive part in iron man. Yes, in an interview with Don Heck, he makes the claim that the red and yellow costume was designed by Steve Ditko, and Heck found it easier to draw than Kirby's bulkier design. As a new very young collector I sent him a letter in the early 70's (I got his address from my Dad's friend who lived in NYC) telling him how much I loved his work at Marvel, .w/ an SASE. I was shocked when I got a return note (stating Marvel was in the past) and spoke about what he's doing now. I then received an large envelope later with a Copy of Mr A from Mr Ditko. I was floored. maidenmate91
skypinkblu
So to make it a little clearer. This sales thread was not legit. Seller has been nominated for the HOS, please see the link. It's not really an Ode to Ditko thread (although he deserves one). It's just here to preserve evidence until the Poll Buzzetta started is complete on Bastille Day .
