Popular Post Straw-Man
this is a tuff, tuff one; third hardest behind 2 and 9 imo. very hard to find. nice looking book, but again with problems. spine split from bottom staple down, and some splitting of the pages down there. cgc would call that brittle. 4.5 by appearance. light tan/ow. last sale, $4,500 for a vg a year ago. $2,000 here. gunsmokin, OdinsSecrets, storypapers and 10 others
Popular Post Straw-Man
no issues with this one. 5.5'ish book, c/ow pages. staples are dark, but no rust. here's a secret, of vital importance to anybody with an incomplete cap 1 missing b.c. the back cover of this book, both inside and out is IDENTICAL to the cap 1 b.c. the ONLY timely hero book that can boast this [I did the search when I had every single timely hero book and thumbed them up in search of this specific phenomenon, for a friend in the resto biz]. 4.5 resto sold a couple months ago for $1,300. $2,750 here. misterrmystery, storypapers, entalmighty1 and 4 others

Popular Post Straw-Man
last one: one of the best timely motorcycle covers. this came from a bound volume. tho' it is exactly the same dimensions as the 8, I think the right edge is trimmed. you see all the thread holes, there is tape up the spine, an extra staple and the big chip out of top spine. a restored mid-grade sold for over 2k last year. how 'bout $1,250 here. More than happy with that for now! But if I had to strive for a Timely, now it would absolutely be a Cap #46… tough to find a super-low grade within my comfortable price range, though! rjpb
I did not know that about the Mystic #5 back cover. That might explain why I once had a copy with an attractive front cover and no back cover. The front looked like it had been neatly cut from the spine, and not separated due to splitting.
