Recommendation for 8 Year Old

My nephew's birthday is in a few weeks and instead of getting him some junk that's going to break and be trash in a few months, I'd rather get him books and comics in particular. He'll be 8 years old and has shown interest in X-Men and he especially loved the two Ant Man movies that came out the last few years. So we can start there. Looking for recommendations of collected books (easier to obtain quickly) or single issue runs that he may enjoy and that are appropriate for his age. Appreciate it.

Marvel Masterworks.  They reprint the original material from way back when (I think the Claremont Xmen stuff is probably a little wordy/heavy for an 8 year old, but the original Kirby/Lee stuff was done for kids).  You can buy them in either Hardcover or TPB format.   The probably even have it for the early Antman Tales to Astonish as well.
