Detective #212 back to 16 pages plus covers 1954. The Puppet Master!

Nice color a scuff on the front, some dirt, nice pages. There is a stain on the front (dirt?) and a small one on the back that looks like tape but is not. Grade is Gd/VG maybe a little better. Bin is $85.00 Sold to BorderlineHoarder

The book has nice color, a Robotman story, creasing near the spine front and on the back near the bottom. There is a small piece off the bottom front, small tears at the upper staple and some staining inside the cover. There is only one for sale on eBay and it's pretty low grade. A 3.5 sold a month ago for $168. This one might be closer to VG, but I'm going to say VG- (3.5) because of that small piece missing. Bin is $150

Detective 217, Meet Barney Barrow, who becomes a mental giant. He may be the prototype or one of them, for Victor Hammond of Green Lantern fame. This issue is from 1955, way before Hammond appeared in 1961. This is another relatively scarce issue.

Nice color and pages, there are some bug chews on the outer edge of the back cover and through the comic code into the next few pages.. There is a 1” cover spine split at the top and there is a piece of tape holding it together. There is a very small split at the bottom of the spine.Grade is Gd/VG or a little better. Detective #221, Robin tied up (can you imagine? ) a mad scientist, the worst bad guy in the U.S....oh know, how will they escape? Or do they?

Issued in 1955, another relatively scarce issue with nice color and pages. There is a chip at the bottom of the spine and a small spine split/tear at the top, some light overall creasing and a slight tanning halo (see the pictures please. Grade is VG- (3.5) bin is $85.00 sold to ttfitz @ 15 off%

Detective #227. I have a note on the original bag from Metropolis that says it's the “Charlston Copy, 3^rd Martian Manhunter, White pages, 3.5 Rare I don't agree with their grade, so I am posting my own.

I'd say the pages are more OW but the color is really nice. I had no idea what “Charlston Copy” means, but here is a link. I will include the Metro label and sticker with Wonder Woman on it. This is the 3^rd Martian Manhunter:) It's from 1956 and certainly harder to find. There is a lot of creasing near the spine and some small tears on the spine at the front and a a longer one (about 1.5”) on the back.. There are also two pieces of tape inside the back cover, one near the spine one at the bottom. Grade is Gd+ (2.5) Bin is $125 sold to Norrin's Lawyer

Detective #262, A “crime boss” who wears a “jackal head” from 1958. You have to wonder sometimes what inspired these stories., this one might have been from a trip to the Metropolitian museum. They have a huge Egyptian section. This is his first appearance (as advertised in some eBay listings, but I'm not sure he ever had a 2^nd appearance;)

The book has nice color and pages, there is a hard crease lower right and some small ripples at the very edge, not sure if they are from production or damp fingers. Grade is VG/Fn, maybe a trifle better. Bin is $60

Detective #265, Batman's first case plus his origin is retold. The villain here is “the Clock”, interesting because a there was a hero named “The Clock” in the early GA.
