Question about vuescan and scanner 0

Dear comic book collectors,

I got a question and hoping some of the more handy man/woman here can help me cause i can't seem to figure it out.
I want to scan a few covers of comics i have in my private collection only i got some issues with it.
I use vuescan in combination with a Canon Canoscan 220.

But when ever i want to scan the cover of the comic the image comes out very "Grainy"
Hope you understand what i mean with that, a lot of rare pixels pop up and the images are not smooth as on the cover.

Does anyone has a idea how i can solve this the best? I tried a few settings with what i found here but the issue still stays.

Hopefully someone can hepl me out.

What's your DPI set to under "Scan resolution"?

Bingo.  Set Scan Resolution to 300dpi.  Set Preview Resolution to 72 dpi.
