Black on pages of older comics 0

Hi All, 

I'll start off by saying I am noob. 

I have purchased a number of older comics from 70's, 80's, and 90's. 

I noticed that some of them have something black sort of smeared on the pages. 

I am not sure if it is ink run or mold. Does anyone know what this might be? 

How does this affect the grading of a comic that is otherwise pristine?

It’s just ink transfer. Very common. In some cases there could be large splotches of ink on interior pages.

A book could still attain the upper spectrum of the CGC grading scale with the type of ink transfer you've shown. What could adversely affect the grade is when there's random ink on the cover, but a small amount is allowed even in the Near Mint+ range...
