Blastaar
Love prelims. They remind me of musicians sitting on a bus jotting down ideas for a song. Below is a favorite one from the great Giordano of a Batman cover that never was. Edited August 6, 2019 by Blastaar exitmusicblue

What's odd about prelims is the pricing, they can be very inexpensive in most cases. It's one of the last corners in the comic industry that hasn't inflated. I've said too much! Brian Peck
Here are two prelims John Bolton did for the first issue of Mephisto vs mini series. Both are great but I do agree the one Marvel choose for publication is the best design. Anyone know where the published original is?

I was at Wonder Con many years ago when it was in San Francisco. A fellow collector was looking to do a big deal, he had brought alot of art to the show to trade with Burkey. He asked me to help him value the artwork, the two Wolverine prelims was in the pile of artwork he brought. I asked if he would sell me the two prelims and he did. TMNT
Kevin Eastman. Prelim from Issue#1. Neat little bit of history, in the final issue 1 of this page they accidentally misspelled "Michelangelo"... But here in the prelim, they got it right! Pete Marino, Blastaar, John E. and 1 other

I also believe that the art from issue 1 was re-inked and used again in Palladium's RPG TMNT and Other Strangeness.

You may want... to look again... at that spelling. (Even funnier, in the IDW Artisan Edition there is a thumbnail to this page in which it's misspelled a THIRD different way)
