1)What are Hidden Gem Variants? 

2)What is the Hidden Gem?

3)How does the Hidden Gem fit/tie into a Storyline?

4)Why do we want/need the Hidden Gem?

I think they are just reprints of old art for the most part.

I am not into "Modern Comics" but I did purchase three of the Marvel Comics #1000 because I liked the "Silver Age" artwork on the cover and one is the "Ditko Hidden Gem Variant" and so the question about "Hidden Gems".

From what I have read and understand the covers are redone by newer artists but the books shown in the link below all look like "new art", not "reprints of old art".

There is nothing on the internet about "what they are" only "which ones they are".

Thanks, some have been published just not in comics. The Mike Zeck Punisher ones are from a Marvel Punisher Portfolio.

So the covers were not just recently drawn by a new artist, they came form the archives at Marvel Comics.

That makes sense since there are numerous Kirby Hidden Gem Variants and some of the covers are very nice.
