Ah, ok. Thanks a lot for the help. I gotta say that is one expensive book. I wonder if the library would have it. Hmmmmm...

Or you can get one here for a lot less,

When they input 175,738 for Average Paid Circulation from Captain America 162-173, why not input 349,401 for Average Print Run?

P.S. Could someone look up the stats for that Captain America period, and see if the numbers match up or not (if not, what was the number?). There are a lot of numbers in those statements, and I wonder which one Krause actually used.

Here's what my copy of the 2nd Edition says:

With issue 173, it says "Has 1973 Statement; avg sales 174,934 avg subs 804 avg total paid circ 175,738" No mention of print run.

But for issue 159, it says "Has 1972 Statement, filed 9/21/72; avg print run 349,714 avg sales 177,204 avg subs 989 avg total 178,193"

So how did they apply the data from those two Statements of Ownership etc?

For issues 145-156, they say "Circ statement 178,193"

For issues 157-168, they say "Circ statement 175,738"

For issues 169-180, they say "Circ statement 183,344"

very little variation over the course of 4 years, interesting

when you look at those numbers you DO see why they stopped selling comics at the newstand, given that 50% didn't sell. of course, i'm not sure that many magazines don't have the same proble.
