..... NICE.....but I thought you had those already. That 19 would certainly set a record at auction..... but is, as you know, essentially irreplaceable. As for the previous White Mountain...... they really do have tahat special aroma.... almost a sweet smell....congrats. GOD BLESS...

Jim, I had them raw for a decade or more.

Yeah the 17 looks wayyyyyyyyyyy better than a 6.5...makes no sense.

Reminds me of my ST 28 - which was abused by the CGC graders because of tanning. Maybe the 17 was knocked down for the same reason?

Nope - no tanning on the Venus. Slight spine wear.

That is a wonderful looking ST #28!

Thanks it is the best presenting one I have seen, by a long shot (I haven't seen the only one graded higher 8.0).

There should be a few pedigrees of this one out there, but they haven't surfaced yet.

If not for the tanning it is an easy 7.0-7.5 in my opinion...oh well.

I don't know whether that information exists. I have not seen any reference to circulation numbers from the 50s Atlas/Marvel.

Hey guys, I have just picked up a nice group of 1950s books which I will be debuting at SDCC. They are about 1/2 DCs, and about 1/2 Atlas. Lots of nice grades, mostly between Fine and VF. Might be a good chance to pick up some gems you don't normally see.

Dale,

Please hide them until Chicago.

One final group shot. This time, it's my Astonishing run -- which includes one Bethlehem copy (#35), nine Church copies (#7, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20), five Circle 8 copies (#57, 58, 60, 61, 62), one River City copy (#6), one Spokane copy (#8), thirteen White Mountain copies (#13, 14, 27, 45, 46, 47, 48, 50, 55, 56, 58, 59, 63), one issue from Díck Ayers' personal file (#16), two Medina Ohio copies (#3, 4), and eight Petaluma copies (#30, 38, 39, 41, 42, 43, 50, 51).

This particular title has quite a few great covers. All things considered, these masterpieces by Everett would rank near the top: :luhv:
