Here's something a few board members have contributed art to. Should be fabulous when it's done.

Thanks for posting that link! I don't have a copy of that book and I was going to just buy one of the old ones....now I will wait.

The project to put together a new and better edition, focusing on the art of Wrightson, is being done privately by Berni himself and Frank Darabont (Hollywood director). This edition should be really spectacular, with full size high-res scans of all the originals. Can't wait to get my copy! Of course, it'll be a year or two before it's all done.

What I found impressive was the diverse backgrounds of all the collectors with plates. Real interesting group of folks.

The artwork is being scanned now. I would image it would be 1-2 years like Hari had mentioned.

What are they using to scan the artwork? I certainly wouldn't want my OA bent over a drum.

what kind of price do you think the cloth editions might command? and it seems as though their print run is short by about half, given the amount of interest this book might pull

Here is the first one. A drawing Bernie did in 1968 and published in Colour Your Dreams, an early 1970's fanzine. Probably best to categorize this as pre-Frankenstein:

Here is the second image and first plate. This never saw print in the final Marvel version but was used in the Lost Frankenstein book:
