I recently picked up a copy of X-O Manowar #0 Gold. However it looks a bit different. The attached pic shows what I am talking about. The Gold version (left) almost looks sun faded as it is not as brightly colored as the non-gold version. Can anyone confirm or have an explanation?

Looks to me like a manufacturing error. Likely the red ink ran out during printing, as there are some traces on the edges, but for the most part has no red.  The red would have combined with the yellow that is predominant to form a lot of orange, which is definitely lacking.

It could very well be sun fade, since magenta ink tends to fade more with exposure. Since you can see some around the edges, the likelihood of it being a manufacturing error is low, I think. More likely that that area was protected a little more from exposure.

It's easy enough to tell if it's sun fade.  If the back is fine, it's sun fade.  If the back looks like the front, it's the ink running out.  Tough to have both sides exposed to the sun  at the same time.
