So i bought this online as a 9.8 and saw a rip in the corner. Can this still pass as 9.8 as a binary fold or is this a L for me

Bindery tears on some moderns are considered a manufacturers defect because it's almost unavoidable on giant sized books.  The cover is stapled on before the book is folded and when it's folded the pressure on the top and bottom of the spine is enough to cause a tear.

It's graded as a 9.8 so, that should answer your question

I trust CGC 100%. Reason i ask because my comics that got shipped with that had a bent corner. Wondering if thats a binary fold or something caused by mail being thrown
