Let me know where to send my contribution to the statue fund, Albert.  I'm imagining something on the scale of the Colossus of Ankh-Morpork, personally.

That would be about right, yes. After all, I've done nothing for the hobby, have I. Nothing.

Good job Marwood has though :)

If that shilling stamp was a football, that could be Wolves Vs West Ham..... with Wolves about to have that player sent off!

Dunno how many super-heroes Wolves and West Ham have got between them, but probably no need to remove shoes and socks.

Charlton went to the trouble of printing fresh covers (with blank inside covers) and at this point I assume Millers still distributed them.

I've owned two copies of this one which reprints the Horror Monsters Black Zoo special - one went to the much missed Maurice (@tv horror), if I remember correctly, and this other tatty copy is sitting in a box somewhere:

The original US book itself has lots of UK variations - a 2/6, a Roberts & Vinter shield, and a T&P distribution stamp too:

I did quite a bit of investigation into these in my Charlton thread some years back. I can't remember too much about them now

The stamp is nothing special but I don’t think I’ve seen many/any Marvel mags with a T&P.

Nice. I wouldn't have even known that was a Marvel mag Gary.

After last night's performance, I'd say West Ham vs Man City would be more appropriate....

:sorry:

I think Marvel’s first magazines, started as Monsters to Laugh With in 1964 before being retitled with #4. Its Stan Lee doing “funny” captions over movie stills.

Sounds riveting!

The circles have buggered up your Avatar a bit Gary - and I see you are a 'Contributor' now:

I feel rather insulted being called an Apprentice. Gary is a Contributor with a similar number of posts to me.

Calling people a "Newbie" isn't nice either. And the circles just don't work do they?

(Your circle looks a bit James Bondy, doesn't it. Anyway, Apprentice, be thankful you're not stuck with the horrific 'nappies' line that was foisted on me against my will and which no one on Earth seems to be able to remove)

So the 'all new page epic!' wording was on a different plate to the 30, but how on Earth did it get omitted?  Or did the missing one precede the correct one?

Waaagh!!!!!

Apparently, I'm an explorer.

I'm thinking this:

You're thinking this, right?
