Wondering if this will greatly impact grade 0

Took a look at a book I am contemplating sending in and when I saw this, on the spine, I figure it it might not be worth it to send in.

 

Am I over reacting? The white on the spine looks bad to me.

From what I understand that is normal from opening the book due to the material the book is made from.

IMO that book will probably not garner a 9.6/9.8 if that is what you are looking for.

Books are graded by "overall" condition.

My suggestion would be to open a thread in the "Hey Buddy Can You Spare A Grade" section with multiple pics of the book (front cover, back cover, complete spine, edges/corners, inside front cover/splash page, inside rear cover/last page and specifically ask about the spine.
