Why does CGC list X-men 125 as first appearance of Mutant X.  First full appearance is X-men 126. Analogy would be similar to Hulk 180 and Hulk 181......

There is no consistency on this issue, and likely never will be.  If you dwell on it, you will go crazy.

There could be some consistency if someone at CGC actually read this issue 

I meant the 1st app 'controversy' in general, across all comic books.  It's wildly inconsistent for CGC, and the world at large.  But if you've got it solved and want to dive into those topics, there's some great threads for that.

Did you know CGC currently notes 2 different issues as being the first cover appearance of Lois Lane?

I saw that they’re still using both Action 27 and 29 to denote the first cover app.  I thought that was resolved sometime ago, but I guess not.  I see GCD lists #27 as first, but OPG lists #29.
