Image hosting service

Hi everyone, which image hosting service do you guys use to post pics of your books?  Photobucket, flickr?  How do you link them to a post here?  I want it so if you click on the image it'll open another window and then the user can zoom in on it further.  The tutorials from PGM are a bit outdated.

Also, if you have Comic Connect or some other online database, do you guys share your collection with others or make them public?

thanks,

brian

Hey brian,

I use the built-in board hosting.

When you make a post (or reply), you'll see this option):

image.thumb.png.7e2e5f2f8bd227702db9238f40572348.png

Click on the "choose files.." link brings up Windows Explorer and let you select a file or files to upload into your post.

Once the pics are uploaded, you can click on them to add it to your post.

Once they are in the post, you can click on them to resize them if you desire.

You can also simply copy and paste pics/images/memes/text directly into the post as well.

It's actually pretty easy. Feel free to test things out in this thread.

Let me know if you need any more help,

-bc

I use our Registry feature to catalog my books, mainly for back-up documentation for insurance purposes.

Almost forgot about the Gallery/Album feature here on the boards, you can make a personal catalog of anything you want.

Ok, that worked.  What was holding me up was that in the preview mode (before I submit the post), clicking on the picture wouldn't open another window which you can then click again to zoom.  I'll have to experiment with file sizes and how much jpeg compression to use.

I'll check out the registry and gallery features on the boards, didn't realize they were available.   Right now, I'm paying for Comic Connect, though it's pretty cheap ($30/year).

thanks again!
